What is exciting about this venture is that the current standard of Doorlammers is amazing and we will almost certainly see some of the biggest names in drag racing fail to make the ultra competitive top eight. The RaceTech Steel sponsored “B” class will no doubt have some spectacular racing you will not want to miss!!! Historically we have seen in the B a string of 5 seconds passes and a number of personal bests. Also it is worth noting that in the only ever full 16 car field for Doorslammer, a bottom eight qualifier went on to runner up at the tin tops with some quick times along the way. It would not be surprising to see a 6.2 or 6.1 bump in a 16 car field, given the opportunity!!! The all Australian Statesman Top Doorslammer, winning it for RaceTech Steel. At the 2008 Snap-On Nitro champs for Civenex Top Doorslammer, Peter Blake pilots his 3000Hp Sainty powered Top Doorslammer Drag-Car to his first final and beyond! A record setting 6.20 elapsed time saw peter qualify in 2nd position behind the newly crowned Australian Champ John Zappia in the Striker Monaro. Defeating Victor Bray in his world famous Castrol 57 chevy on his way to an exciting final round hole shot win, against Andrew Sutton under the guidance of ace tuner Maurice Fabietti.
